Employee of the Decade and Sidewalk Summer Sales

Bear's will be having our 2nd annual Summer Sidewalk sale on August 19th from 10-6. We will be BBQ'n and havin fun in the inflatable funhouses set up for the kids. All proceeds from the BBQ will be going to the St Paul BMX & Skatepark Initiative.

Further to this it's with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to our Shop Manager Kirk. He has been accepted to Medical school and will be attending classes in September. Kirk has been more than instrumental in helping Bear's as well as the Skate park initiative get off the ground. He has been a strong positive example and a great role model to the youth in the community.

Come down Friday and help us celebrate with Kirk before he leaves! You can not only say good bye to this cool dude, but score some very sweet deals on some very sweet goodies!

Bear's 1st annual Birthday Bash

Well, its been a full year since we sold our first Strider and it's probably not a coincidence that the Anniversary of Bear's BMX & BS falls so close to MikeyBear's Birthday May 15th.

So to celebrate and remember.... Bear's Birthday Bash is this weekend!  This will be the first annual Bear's Bday Bash. To celebrate, Bear's BMX & BS will be holding a storewide sale with 1/2 of all proceeds being donated directly to the St. Paul BMX & Skatepark Initiative. Stop in Saturday May 16th to enjoy some good tunes, snacks and refreshments and even better sale prices. More importantly help us help St. Paul build a Mighty Fine Skatepark.

As promised we will be announcing the Colouring Contest Winners sometime this weekend! Still two days to get your colouring done!!

The other intent is to gather feedback from local skaters and BMXers in regards to desired layout and flow of a new park. Please plan to attend January 28th. The meeting has been scheduled for January 28th at 7PM at the CPAC Conference Centre on main street right next to Subway.

Skate Park Initiative Update

The Skate Park has been given the green light to start the official fundraising in order to build a new BMX and Skatepark here in St. Paul. Thanks to the Town of St. Paul, Mr. G Ward, and Mr. R. Boisvert, we are now poised to receive funding with tax receipts for all donations. On top of a very generous monetary donation, The Town has also Committed to support with equipment and services to help construct the Park.

The Initiative still requires some major sponsors and we will be revealing the tiered level approach to recognizing the donors on the skatepark build for the life of the park. Please continue to donate and LIKE the facebook page in the link below. Feel free to share this with any potential donors in our community.

If you have any suggestions for potential donors or you would like to be a part of this initiative please contact the STPSK8 park committee at this email address STPSK8@gmail.com.

Skate Park Initiative

The Skate Park Initiative for St. Paul has started to take off in the right direction. Recent advancements include a preliminary meeting between our Town and Newline Skate parks. Since that meeting Newline has submitted back to the town and myself, a first draft proposal with some model samplings, examples of other parks, and detailed execution steps/stages required to complete the project.

The Stage we are at now requires more community involvement. Over the next few months it will be important to gather some key members as well as key donors to form a committee that will stick handle the initiative.

We are looking for some large donations. These large donations will be tax deductible through the town of St. Paul. If you have any suggestions for whom these key supporters will be or want to be one yourself Please contact myself or Kirk at bearsbmxnbs@gmail.com

In the meantime please continue to post and share your thoughts on the Facebook page for the skatepark. SPSK8PRK
